Hello, my name is Glen Bateman and I am a 29 year old college student studying Computer-Aided Drafting Engineering at PVCC in Charlottesville, VA. I grew up in the area, about 15 miles outside of Charlottesville. I have a passion for Nature, in particular, for Marine wildlife. I'd love to be a Marine Biologist, but not sure if I'd want to commit myself to 8 more years of college, with a very slim prospect of finding a job in that field. If I get into this area still remains a mystery. I think that I can do it later in life or at least acquire a company that focuses in these areas. I spent some time in the small country of Belize during the summer of 2005.veryday I'd dive into the warm, transparent blue waters off the cost and be instantly immersed in a plethora of fish and corals.

It was quite amazing. Belize has the second largest coral reef in the world, and an amazing rainforest with countless untouched Mayan ruins. When I retire, my dream would be to live in this country of endless treasures. I come from a diverse family with a multi-ethnic background. My dad is of German and Irish descent. My mom is part Native American, part African American, and part Caucasian (who's roots stem back to Henry clay, an early 1800 American Senator whom the Senate committee chaired by John F. Kennedy, named Clay as one of the five greatest Senators in American history). I'm very proud of my ethnicity and my history, and I hope that one day with the influx of more and more bi-racial people, that we will begin to break down the barriers of race once and for all. I'm a very political person, who shares views with both parties, but my strong views on equal rights and pro-choice issues, usually keep me siding with the democrats. For you republicans out there, don't worry, I'm not totally liberal, I agree with you guys on some things to, like welfare reform and strong defenses. I must say for the record though, that I think President Bush is a idiot and we as a strong, intelligent, democratic society deserve someone much better in office to represent us as a whole to the rest of the world.

So I've covered my passions, I also love skiing, spelunking, rock climbing, hiking, running, swimming, watching T.V. and spending time with loved ones. I'm blessed to have found the love of my life at such a young age and to have acquired a new addition to the family, my big girl Tikkani, a white German shepherd.
